MEDICINE IN MALAYSIA

More than 1 year passed, since i last wrote in this blog. No time and been very busy for the last few months. In a crossroad now. Very frustated with the system in Malaysia's government hospital. As you all knew, we are very far behind in facilities as compared to Thailand and Singapore. I am working in Kuantan, in a state hospital. But the facilities is unacceptable of a state hospital. We don't even a decent fluroscopy machine to do a simple lower limb angiogram. Pathetic!!. Not only that, now only in the third quarter of the year, no more money to buy films. We don't even spend money to buy expensive catheters, guidewires or stents for interventional radiology. Whose fault is this? Not the head of department. Not the hospital director. Not the state health director. It is the policy maker's fault. Too much money were spent on inapropriate projects to please the cronies. I dont' see much future to develop the hospital. It is too cramped. Will have to see!!!!!!!!

Dear Zali, as my great great great granmama use to say, "If you do not have the means, improvise!"

Isn't government facilities getting to be on par with private ones nowadays?

Besides, the world's economy is heading towards a recession. You'll be glad you stayed in 'gomen'.
